Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG San Cassiano

230,00

San Cassiano Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG is a true legend, a wine icon of the Venetian land. Corvinone, from which it is produced, is a very generous but also extremely capricious vine. Only 20% of the clusters reach full maturity, and it is from these that Amarone is made. The harvested grapes are dried slowly at a low temperature. This gives a high concentration of sugars, which, however, ferment completely, giving a high alcohol content and great essentiality. The wine is matured in large, traditional barrels for 24 months and aged another year in bottles.

After these treatments, we get a rich and full-bodied wine with aromas of forest fruit jam, cherry liqueur, elegant tobacco and dark chocolate. Sensual smoothness on the palate effectively hides the strength of the tannin. This is a truly powerful dry wine with unmistakable depth, softness of touch and a skyrocketing finish.
